Your child will learn a little bit of everything in this versatile, half-day Spring dance camp taught by Dance Arts Academy – including ballet, tap, jazz, swing, hip hop, gymnastics, cheer, and Hawaiian.
Each camper will have an educational and positive experience, while building their self confidence.
The camp is for boys and girls ages 3-12. Participants are placed in age-appropriate classes. A snack and juice is provided. Recital is held for parents on Friday!
Dance Arts Academy has offered professional dance instruction for over 41 years. Teachers focus on building a strong foundation of dance technique in a well-structured and fun learning environment.
Camp Dance is held daily at Dance Arts Academy Monday, April 11, 2011 through Friday, April 15, 2011 from 9:30am to 12:30pm. The price is $127 per child. Register online or call 408-578-4055.
Pioneer High School is holding its 16th Annual Big Band Dance benefiting the school’s Band & Orchestra Program.
This wonderful, fun-filled evening includes live music performances by Pioneer’s “S” Band, Wind Ensemble, and Jazz Band; dancing and brief ballroom dance lesson provided by Dance Boulevard at San Jose Dance Center; and appetizers, desserts, silent auction, and raffle prizes.
Papa Hugs is coming to Almaden Valley to share his original program of singing, dancing, and fun! Children and their families will laugh and sing along to the songs.
Papa Hugs, a.k.a. David Sharpe, will be accompanied by his Playtime Characters, including Wonder The Kangaroo, Scary Bug, Robbie the Robot, Fitness the Frog, and Stinky Beetle.
PapaHugs’ music is educational, interactive, upbeat, silly, and fun. It teaches children about relationships, health, our environment, and the world around us. PapaHugs songs are straight from the heart and welcome you with open arms.
The show is at Almaden Branch Library on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. The program is made possible by the Friends of the Almaden Library.
Go to Dandia Raas Night for an enchanting evening of ethnic folk dance. Dandia is a high energy group dance from India that is rhythmic and fun for everyone. Beginner instruction will be available. Adults and children are welcome.
This fundraiser event is presented by Leland Parent Club. All proceeds go to Leland High School academic enrichment programs, capital improvements, and student equipment and supplies.

Winners of the regional Teen Talent Show tournaments will by in Almaden Valley to show off their unique talents and compete in the 2010 Teen Talent Show Finale. Come and enjoy the remarkable talent of our local teens.
The regional tournaments are being held at six San Jose branch library locations on Saturday, May 1, 2010, 2-4pm. Prizes will be awarded to 1st – 3rd place winners at the regional events.
The first and second place winners from each of the regional tournaments will participate in a final competition at the Almaden Branch Library on Saturday, May 15, 2010, 3-5pm. Winners of the finale will win even bigger prizes!
You can pick up a registration packet at any library. You must submit the registration form to the tournament location you plan to compete at. Spaces are limited, so sign up today!

Instructors for the Dance, Act, Perform Camp guide campers through the production and performance of their very own variety show. The camp encourages creative expression and helps build self-esteem. San Jose Parks Recreation & Neighborhood Services has released its City Wide Activity Guide for Spring & Summer 2010. The guide includes all of the activities planned for the Almaden Community Center.
Almaden Valley residents have a variety of activities to choose from, including the following: arts and crafts, camps, dance, early childhood recreation, education and enrichment, health and fitness, music, sports leagues and drop-ins, cooking, specialty programs, senior programs and events, and family events.
Registration for Spring & Summer 2010 activities begins on Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10am. You can register online.
