Join Docent Sam Drake on a beginner’s geocaching adventure in Almaden Quicksilver County Park. You will find 6-7 hidden caches in the park.

Geocaching is an outdoor treasure hunting game where you use a Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver and other navigational techniques to hide and seek containers, called “geocaches” or “caches,” with other participants in the activity. GPS units provided.

A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook where the geocacher enters the date they found it and signs it.

Meet at the Wood Road Park Entrance with sturdy hiking shoes, sun protection, water, and snacks. The event is Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 8:45am to 12:00pm. You can register online.
