Almaden Soccer’s 1st Annual 5K/10K “Kick-off” Run
Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to participate in more fitness activities? If so, here’s an opportunity to start off 2015 with a “bang!” Almaden Valley Youth Soccer League and Almaden FC is holding their first annual “Kick Off” run on January 1st at Leland High School. This fun event is open to runners and walkers of all ages; everyone is welcome. For the competitive set, medals will be awarded to the top finishers, and all participants who finish their race will receive a pin. The Stanford School of Medicine Eating Disorder Research Program will present a seminar on eating disorders in adolescents. The seminar will be at The Studio by Angi on Monday December 3, 2012 at 6:30pm. The topic of discussion will be: how to recognize signs and find solutions.
GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors) is a form of cancer that has no cure and affects thousands of Americans every year. The Walk for a Cure was started by a GIST patient in New York 12 years ago. On Sunday, October 21st from 10:30am to 2pm, residents of San Jose will have the opportunity to raise money for research, generate awareness and provide support for GIST patients and their caregivers.
