CreaTV San Jose’s 2010 Party – “A Taste of Things to Come”

[post card: a taste of things to come] CreaTV San Jose, a non-profit, public benefit corporation serving the City of San Jose, invites you to attend its 2nd Annual May Party – A Taste of Things to Come.

This is an evening that will tickle your taste buds and whet your appetite for exciting things to come to CreaTV San Jose.

The party will feature award‐winning local wines, scrumptious hors d’oeuvres, decadent chocolate, inspired music, great company and a few surprises.

All proceeds for this event will help support CreaTV San Jose’s mission is to inspire, educate, and connect San Jose communities, using media to foster civic and social engagement.

The party is at Sonoma Chicken Coop in Almaden Valley on Wednesday, May 19, 2010 from 5:30 to 8:00pm. The price is $25 per person in advance, and $35 per person at the door. You can purchase tickets online.

Old School Etiquette for Boys in Almaden Valley

Good manners never go out of style! Raise a perfect gentlemen with Old School Etiquette for Boys. This class will help your son with his manners, appearance, and confidence at social gatherings.

Topics include good posture, public speaking, being a good sport, and table manners. The class ends with a dinner to practice all of the skills the boys have learned. This class is also a great refresher for returning students. The class is for boys ages 7-12.

The class meets six times at the Almaden Community Center on Wednesdays, April 28 – June 2, 2010, 3:45pm to 4:45pm. The price is $79 per boy. You can register your son online.

Teen Talent Show 2010 Finale in Almaden Valley

[logo: teen talent show] Winners of the regional Teen Talent Show tournaments will by in Almaden Valley to show off their unique talents and compete in the 2010 Teen Talent Show Finale. Come and enjoy the remarkable talent of our local teens.

The regional tournaments are being held at six San Jose branch library locations on Saturday, May 1, 2010, 2-4pm. Prizes will be awarded to 1st – 3rd place winners at the regional events.

The first and second place winners from each of the regional tournaments will participate in a final competition at the Almaden Branch Library on Saturday, May 15, 2010, 3-5pm. Winners of the finale will win even bigger prizes!

You can pick up a registration packet at any library. You must submit the registration form to the tournament location you plan to compete at. Spaces are limited, so sign up today!

Cheerleading Summer Camp @ The Studio in Almaden Valley

[photo: cheerleader pom pom] Cheerleading Summer Camp participants learn everything from fundamental arm movements, kicks, jumps, and turns to flips, chants, routines, and proper warm-ups and stretching.

Campers perform a full cheer routine for parents, guardians, and friends on the last day of class. This camp is guaranteed to be a blast. Cheerleading Summer Camp is for boys and girls ages 6-11.

The price is $95 for the week. The camp is at the Almaden Community Center, June 28, 2010 through July 2, 2010, 9am – 12pm daily. You can sign up online.

Almaden Jr. Chef’s Summer Camp – Summer 2010

[photo: boy jr. chef] Sign your child up for Almaden Jr. Chef’s Summer Camp. Campers will learn basic cooking techniques, fun how to’s, healthy eating tips, and design their own herb garden and reusable shopping bag.

The camp also features multicultural food demonstrations and supervised play time. Sign your child up for one or two weeks. The camp is for boys and girls ages 6-10. The camper to staff ratio is 1:12. The price is $295 per camper for one week.

Almaden Jr. Chef’s Summer Camp is at the Almaden Community Center. You have two one-week sessions to choose from: July 12, 2010 – July 16, 2010, and/or August 2, 2010 – August 6, 2010. Camp is held 8:30am – 12:30pm daily. You can sign up online.

Floral Demonstration to Feature Bloomster’s Kren Rasmussen

[photo: bloomster's floral designs] Martino Interiors is hosting a floral demonstration event at its studio in Los Gatos. The event will feature Kren Rasmussen, founder of Bloomster’s Floral Designs in Almaden Valley. The event is free.

Kren will show you how to create striking floral arrangements and combine them with home accessories, creating beautiful vignettes and centerpieces.

Bloomster’s has been in Almaden Valley for more than 20 years, assisting interior designers with their floral and plant design projects, and providing unique floral designs and personal service to residents in Almaden Valley and the entire Bay Area.

TechKnowHow LEGO® Summer Camps at Holy Spirit School in Almaden Valley
