Almaden Valley Real Estate Market Update
Happy New Year! The last week of 2011 did not bring much change in the Almaden Valley real estate market. The number of active listings dropped from 49 last week to 48 this week, while the percentage of listings under contract dropped from 41% to 38%. Traditional (ie non-distressed) listings dropped from 40 active listings to 37, and from 38% under contract to 36% in the same period.

At the beginning of every year the private schools in Almaden Valley hold open house and open enrollment for prospective and returning students.
Almaden Valley is home to a number of private schools for students in preschool, kindergarten, elementary school, and middle school.

Episcopal Church in Almaden and Congregational Church of Almaden Valley, United Church of Christ are celebrating Epiphany with a family potluck dinner and service welcoming the Three Wise Men and their camel, no less.
Everyone is encouraged to bring a candle for the altar. The Kings will light the candles so the light may be shared with others in our community and the world.
Almaden Valley Real Estate Market Update
As we quickly approach the end of the year, the Almaden Valley real estate market continues its seasonal cooling.
The total number of available properties on the market dropped from 56 on December 5, 2011 to 49 on December 27, 2011. The percentage of all listings under contract (i.e., Pending) increased slightly from 40% to 41% over the same timeframe.
Children’s Day at History Park in San Jose included photos and trolley ride with Santa Claus, holiday arts and crafts for children, hand-operated cart on tracks, story times with the Snow Queen, and St. James AME Youth Choir. The day was enjoyed by all!

Almaden Valley home lights up the night with Christmas music and lights. Just how many lights? More than 8,500 white, red, and green lights on 10 little trees and the walkway. The house also has dripping icicle lights and some strobe lights. The lights are synchronized across the yard to suit the mood of the background music being played.
Lord of the Light Art Studio & Gallery in Almaden Valley offers a Weekly Art Program throughout the entire year, including the Summer months of June, July, and August. Students attend an average of four classes per month.
