Almaden Quicksilver Park will be hosting a history tour by van on Saturday, October 27, 2012 from 9am to 1:30pm. Adults and children (6 years and older, must weigh at least 60 pounds) alike will love the opportunity to step back in time and discover the area’s rich mining history on this tour.
Almaden Valley Community Association will host an election forum on October 18, 2012 in the parish hall at Holy Spirit Church in Almaden Valley.
The forum will begin at 7pm and should wrap up by approximately 9pm. The schedule of events will include a debate between San Jose District 10 council candidates Robert Braunstein and Johnny Khamis, and a debate between Jim Beall and Joe Coto, candidates for the California Senate District 15.
It’s that time of year again! The Almaden Branch Library’s wildly popular annual Fall Book Sale is back.
The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Almaden Library. You can feel even better about your purchases knowing that all proceeds will go to benefit the library’s special programs and services.
Almaden Valley Seniors, there’s still time to sign up for Session 5 Courses at the SeniorNet Learning Center of Almaden.
Registration was held on October 6, 2012, but many courses are still open to additional students. Courses which currently have some space available include:

Almaden Valley Real Estate Market Update

Almaden Valley Real Estate Market Update
This past week saw an increase in the number of single family homes on the Almaden Valley real estate market; from 59 last week to 65 this week.
The percentage of listings that are under contract dropped from 49% to 46%, but this drop is likely due to the additional homes on the market skewing that number downward a bit.
Bring the entire family for a day of fun at the 6th Annual / 2012 Almaden Harvest Festival & Holiday Boutique. Children will enjoy picking from the pumpkin patch, getting spooked in the scream-inducing Haunted House, making crafts, playing games, and being entertained with a holiday story time and puppet show.
Join Almaden Valley Athletic Club’s General Manager and professionally trained Wilderness Guide, Jeff Griffith-Jones, and AVAC’s Activities Director, Becky Smothermon, on a walk through the past in Quicksilver Park in beautiful New Almaden.
