La Foret Restaurant will be open for lunch throughout the month of December, starting on December 3rd and running through December 21st from 11:30am to 2pm. The following tasting menu will be available:
Since 2010, the residents of 1437 Camino Robles Way have built one of “those houses” during the holidays. Every year they create a spectacular display of lights synchronized to holiday music. They call is Christmas Out Loud.
This year, they have added ten 3-foot tall trees and new colors to their show. The “performance” can be seen nightly from December 1st until December 31st from 6 to 9pm (10pm on Fridays and Saturdays).
Almaden Business Association will hold its annual holiday party at La Foret restaurant (21747 Bertram Road) on December 11, 2012. The event will begin with a reception (no host bar) at 6pm. Dinner will be served at 7pm.
Sign-ups for the Almaden Little League 2013 spring season will take place on December 3rd and 4th this year. Parents can sign their children up for teams at the Almaden Golf and Country Club from 6pm to 8:30pm.

Almaden Branch Library will host its annual holiday book sale on Monday, November 26, 2012 from 9am to noon. Please note that the library will be closed on this day, but the sale will be held in the community center at 6445 Camden Ave in the hallway leading to the library’s entrance.

Have fun in this fantastic Children’s Play House of San Jose production. Children in kindergarten (5 years old) to 6th grade are invited to audition for the 1-Act Workshop’s production of Alice in Wonderland.
The staff of the City of San Jose Parks and Recreation Department invite the residents of Almaden to bring their little ones to a breakfast with Santa Clause on December 8, 2012 from 9:30am to noon.
The event will begin with a breakfast, a seasonal arts and crafts project and photos with Santa (available for purchase with a frame). The festivities will wrap up with a special gift from Santa.
The Almaden Valley Women’s Club will be accepting applications for community grants from educational institutions and local non-profits from now until November 17, 2012.
Any organization which has 501c3 status from the IRS is eligible to apply. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Late applications will not be accepted. The awards will be announced on December 10, 2012.
The Almaden Quicksilver Park will be hosting an informational hike on December 15, 2012 from 9am to 12pm. Come and learn about one of the most interesting natural phenomena to occur in the area on an easy 2.6 mile hike through the park.
Guides will explain how thousands of California newts will migrate to their hereditary breeding ponds, facing distance and danger. This migration takes place annually from November to March.
